Family Support Services

Whether you are pregnant, a new parent, or just need support, we're here to help.

No Matter What's Next, We're Here for You

We believe that everyone deserves support. That’s why all of our services are 100% free, 100% confidential, and available to all regardless of income level, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, religion, nationality, or residence. The only thing you need is a photo ID. Our doors are open to you!

Medical Services

Alpha offers free, confidential medical services to women and men.

Pregnancy Testing

If you think you may be pregnant, a trained medical staff member can administer you a urine pregnancy test. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Partners are welcome to attend.

Limited Ultrasounds

Ultrasounds are available by appointment for those who qualify. A sonographer will perform your ultrasound and a doctor will review the results. Our ultrasounds cannot determine the gender of your baby, nor do they replace your regular OB/GYN appointments.

STI Testing

If you think you may have a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), you can be tested by a trained medical staff member. Alpha Grand Rapids provides urine testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and we can refer you for treatment if the test is positive.

Support Services

You’re not alone on your journey to reaching your goals or becoming the parent your kids need. Our support services are designed to help you find a community that understands what you’re going through and that you can lean on through good times and bad.

Mentoring & Coaching

Trained mentors for women and coaches for men are available to provide you with compassionate support and education through our Step Up Program. Meet one-on-one to discuss various topics like parenting, healthy relationships, finances, and more.

Fatherhood Group

Meet with other dads to talk about a variety of topics centered around manhood and fatherhood. You will find a community of men that encourages, challenges, and learns from one another.

Single Moms Group

The Single Moms Support Group meets every week during the school year and for monthly picnics during the summer. Participate in group discussions, create a beautiful craft to take home, and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Educational Services

Whether you are a new parent, are looking for a better job, or would like to learn another language, we offer support services to help.

Come discover what’s possible for your future through our various classes!

Material Resources

At AGR, we allow one emergency visit to receive diapers. After that, you can join a program to continue receiving “Alpha Bucks” to spend in our store. The store has items like diapers, wipes, formula, baby clothes, toys, and maternity clothes. You can also save up Alpha Bucks for a new pack ‘n play or car seat. Programs vary on how often shopping times are available and how many Alpha Bucks are provided. Contact us to set up an emergency appointment or learn more about which programs will best suit your needs.
